Properties: Amorphous Boron is a fine brown-black powder which oxidizes slowly at
Room temperature. Therefor it should be kept in completely filled air-tight containers. If mixed with oxidizing materials, it may be sensitive to heat and impact.
Applications: 1) For use in airbag for passenger vehicles, solid fuels and slurries, ceramic
formulations, explosives and rocket propellants. Boron is a strong neutron absorber and sometimes used for preparation of absorber materials.
2) It can be used as protective material and boron steel for atomic reactor in atomic energy industry.
3) In smelting industry. since boron and metal can be formed metal-boroide with high melting point, so when inletting the paryicular quantity boron into the most of alloys, it is possible to change well the physical-mechanical features of the alleys, and ake the place of or save a quantity of precious and th-in metals.
